GYMNASTICS

The Great Miami Valley YMCA Gymnastics program is based on the National Progressive Gymnastics Program. The beginner program is designed for children of all ages and includes the fundamentals of gymnastics, tumbling and apparatus skills. As children practice these skills, they also experience enhanced coordination, balance and self-confidence. The YMCA's five core values are infused into every lesson - respect, responsibility, honesty, faith and caring.

Gymnastics-Parent/Child

Kids ages 18 months to 3 years old will be introduced to the most basic gymnastics skills while enhancing their listening skills and social interaction abilities. Parents - must take the class with their children. It's never too early to learn gymnastics fundamentals and build coordination, balance and self-confidence!

Gymnastics-Beginner

The Great Miami Valley YMCA Gymnastics program is based on the National Progressive Gymnastics Program. The beginner program is designed for children of all ages and includes the fundamentals of gymnastics, tumbling and apparatus skills. As children practice these skills, they also experience enhanced coordination, balance and self-confidence.

Gymnastics-Intermediate

The Great Miami Valley YMCA Gymnastics program is based on the National Progressive Gymnastics Program. It is designed for children of all ages and includes tumbling and apparatus skills. The Intermediate program is designed to review the most basic gymnastics skills with the children while working on more complex skills.

Gymnastics-Advanced

The Great Miami Valley YMCA Gymnastics program is based on the National Progressive Gymnastics Program and is designed for children of all ages. The Advanced program- which includes tumbling and apparatus skills-also includes a review of basic gymnastics skills while being introduced to more complex skills such as front and back hand springs and round-off back hand springs. Participants must have passed previous classes and have permission from the instructor to take this class.

Cheer & Tumbling

Cheer and Tumbling classes are perfect for children that would like to try out for school cheerleading squads or just to have fun! Classes focus on basic tumbling skills needed for a beginner cheerleader along with learning different jumps and arm positions.

Gymnastics-Private Lessons

Private gymnastics lessons are available for those aspiring gymnasts who want more intensive, one-on-one training with a qualified instructor. Personal achievement goals will be set and lessons are scheduled between the participant and the instructor. Instruction is offered in tumbling, apparatus skills and advanced gymnastics.

Once registered, a gymnastics instructor will contact you to discuss your personal goals and set up a schedule for your lessons. A person wishing to cancel a private lesson must do so 24-hours in advance or they will be charged for the lesson. Available to full members only.
