WATER FITNESS CLASSES
Take to the water for fun and fitness! The
Great Miami Valley YMCA offers a variety of Aquatic Exercise programs for all
fitness levels-and you don't have to be a swimmer to participate! The programs-
which take place mainly in the shallow water- range from water joint, range of
motion classes to high intensity aerobic classes. Exercising in the water provides
a challenging workout in a near weightless and zero impact environment. All water
fitness classes are free to members.

Ai Chi Water Class
Ai Chi is designed to reduce stress, tone
muscles, and eliminate illness created by stress. It teaches correct breathing
techniques to enhance the bloodstream to brain and vital organs. The benefits of
Ai Chi are improved balance, strength, agility, flexibility, grace,
coordination, posture, and mental focus. No swimming ability is required.

Arthritis Program
This program is for both men and women who
suffer from the aches and pains of arthritis. This class is taught by certified
instructors through the Arthritis Foundation. No swimming ability is required.

Cardio Splash (Moderate to vigorous exertion)
Moderate to vigorous exertion. Class components can be in both the shallow and deep water. All fitness levels are welcome.

Core Splash (Moderate to vigorous exertion)
Moderate exertion class that focuses on cardio
and core exercise in the weater.

Deep H20 Aerobics (Moderate to vigorous exertion)
Moderate to vigorous exertion. All components of the class are performed in deep water.
Flotation belts are available for those who are not swimming competent. Open to all fitness levels.

Golden Splash (Very moderate exertion)
This class is for active older adults. Class components include gentle cardio, strength and flexibility training, and range of motion exercises.

H2-Cardi-O
Shallow water class with medium to high intensity workout. No equipment cardio
workout. Use of water weights, balls, noodles and Pilates for balance. Class is for one-stop cardio and toning.

H20 Boot Camp (Vigorous exertion)
This class is circuit training in the water. Class components include vigorous cardio, calisthenics and strength training in both shallow and deep water.

Power Up (Moderate exertion)
Empower yourself with this workout class that combines stretching, low-impact cardio and resistance exercise. Take a step beyond arthritis classes to get a full body workout. Benefits range from strength and flexibility to overall body fitness in a fun environment. Open to men and women of all skill levels and ages.

Prenatal Water Fitness
Exercising in water is ideal for pregnant
women because the water's buoyancy requires you to support only 50% of your body
weight. Water reduces the risk of stress-related injuries, and the
compression of the water is soothing on joints and muscles that are stressed by
the physical changes of pregnancy. The water's temperature also keeps you
from overheating during your workout.

SplashDance
Get your groove on in the pool with music and line dancing steps. A great cardio
workout!

Water Step
Take water aerobics to the next level with Step Aerobics in the water! Benefits include low-impact resistance training in a fun, musical environment.

Water Wake-Up (Moderate exertion)
This class is in the shallow water only. Great for beginners.
